T H A N K Y O U ! ! !
The pleas for help are over, the bills have been paid, and we are pleased to announce a profit of over $20,000! Now it's time to give thanks for all those responsible for the success of our Summer Festival 2018! Each year it is always difficult, given the many, many people who assist, to make certain everyone is acknowledged. Without the time and talents of parishioners, the successful outcome of this venture would not be possible. If we inadvertently forget someone, please accept our apologies.
We give thanks to God through the intercessions of our Patron, St. Joseph, for a beautiful Summer day, and to the following: To all the Festival Committee members who make time in their busy schedules to plan for this annual parish fundraiser, especially Monica Gehman, who chaired this year's event. Monica spent many hours over the past weeks preparing for this one day! And kudos to the following who performed many duties as committee members: Father Buckley, Roe Lanning, Joanne & Joe Kolarik, Judy Cochrane, Michele March, Claire Hassick, Rose Bendekovitz, Brian Huber, Christine Ehresman, Mike Yanek, Janessa O’Donnell and Barb Gunther. Tony Cioffi and Adams Outdoor Advertising… for the huge billboards displaying advertising for our event. Thanks also to those who helped advertise with our yard signs and through spreading the word throughout the community. Thanks to our many stand sponsors who helped deflect costs with their monetary donations. We are so grateful to the many volunteers who signed up and helped to run all the game stands, both indoors and out. Much appreciation to Joe Lazorik, who besides providing some fine piano finesse, also was our contact for all the great musicians for the day. Special thanks to The Altar and Rosary Society… their home-made specialties are always a highlight of our menus! Thank You Bill and Monica Michalerya, who once again donated the candy for the Candy Wheel. Thanks to Debra Baringer and family for preparing and donating the sausage sandwiches in the Snack Shack. Thanks to the untiring efforts of the Kitchen Food Serving Crew who worked throughout the day serving up the platters and other delicious offerings, and also to the cashiers and those bussing the tables. Many thanks to Joanne Kolarik, who spends days in the kitchen preparing the foods and has faithfully handled all the food shopping chores for the kitchen & Snack Shack. To the entire dish/pot washing crew - Our hats are off to them for volunteering for this tough yet essential job. And to Joe Kolarik, who spent days beforehand making sure everything was in working order and ready to go! Thanks to the friendly service from Tom and Angela Lynch and the many volunteers of the Outdoor Food Crew, who spent a toasty afternoon in the Snack Shack or behind the hot fryers dishing out French Fries and assorted goodies. And a most Special Thanks to all those parishioners who assisted, whether through our special collection or by donating items, for our always successful all-profit Silent Auction. Everything runs smoothly if there are terrific volunteers for the “prep” beforehand and clean-up after... our thanks to Bob, Clare and Ryan Hassick, Brian Huber, the Kelhart Family and all those who were a part of the Set-up and Clean-up crews. The refreshing downpour at 7PM did not deter the amazing clean up efforts!
AGAIN, OUR GRATITUDE TO EVERYONE who donated baked goods or sodas… and to those who just came and enjoyed the day...See you next year - Save the date for last Sunday in June… Summer Festival 2019!!
